The Evencort Series

Luke, Lord Evencort is a man who always keeps his word. Thanks to a promise made to his now-dead best friend, Luke ends up with a very reluctant wife. After the death of her beloved brother, circumstances force Caitlyn Covington to marry her brother's best friend.

Lita thinks she is and will always be a wallflower, and London's high society seems to agree with her. Except for certain banker by the name of Derek Kirrier who may or may not be some kind of wonderful.

Michael Evencort never thought he would find himself guardian of the daughter of the two people who betrayed him the most, but life happens. There is, hoever, a plus in this situation: it brought Jenny Craven back into his life.

Edith Bryers is a modern woman who has fallen out of society's grace, and who currently only worries about following her love of history and taking care of her beloved grandmother. James Evencort has spent his youth in mindless seek of pleasure and has no intention to stop...up until Eddie's hat hit him right in the face.

Three years have passed since Ethan Aldercy, Earl of Burnell lost his beloved wife, and now he's back in England, trying to weave back the broken threads of his life and raise his son. The last think he wants is for single-minded, practical Sophie Evencort to meddle in his affairs, but that's exactly what he gets.

Maddy was just following her heart, which lead her to St. George's Hospital and to William Destler who doesn't quite know what do do with the little hellion he has in his hands. And then there is Nikki, and the only man who seems to really understand her.

Facts & Fun

Here you'll find curiosities regarding the Evencort Series:

* When I started With You (Luke & Caitlyn's story), I had originally planned it as a trilogy called "Three Dudes Named Luke" because my plan was to write these three separate stories which only linking thread was that the protagonist would be called Luke in each of them. I never actually went ahead with this, though I did wrote a bit of the second story, I never went back to finish it.

* Once I had given up on Three Dudes Named Luke, I decided to do The Evencorts as a trilogy as well - what can I say, I'm a Star Wars fan, I LOVE trilogies - by adding to With You the stories of the twins, Michael and Gabriela. But when I was done with Michael's story Everything and The Moon, James had started talking to me, and then Sophie and Maddy, so I just went ahead and did the whole family saga.

*The titles all mean something to me:
  • With You: Embarrassing as it is, I actually named the story like that because of the Jessica Simpson song by the same name, which is weird since I don't even like Jessica Simpson, but I sort of like this song.
  • The Wallflower: If you're a die hard Julia Quinn fan, then you probably remember that in Romancing Mr. Bridgerton, Penelope, by the end, decides to write a book tentatively called The Wallflower. So the title is a bit of a homepage to one of my favorite historical heroines ever: Penelope.
  • Everything and the Moon: Again, a Julia Quinn reference here. I've often said that for me one of the most beautiful covers ever is the one from Mrs. Quinn Everything and the Moon (Book 1 of the Lydon Sisters set). It also ties in with something Jenny says to Michael during the story
  • An Autumn Affair: I liked the alliteration, and I really liked the idea of setting the story over the course of this season (it's my favorite), the other tentative title for it was Fall in Love (again, favorite season), but I settle for this one.
  • Where Dreams Begin: This one is a reference to a Lisa Kleypas book, she's one of my favorite authors and WDB is one of her least popular books, actually, but I liked it anyway. I was already plotting this story when I was working on An Autumn Affair, that's why Ethan's name is mentioned there.
  • Suddenly You: Another reference to a Lisa Kleypas' book, but mostly it was because I wanted to have a title with the word "You" in it, to tie in with With You.  Crazy, I know.
* Maddy and Nikki are molded after two of my e-friends, Maddy and Adel (without an e), who were super close and just such fun to be around. Mady told me to mold Will after her then boyfriend, and Adel picked her dream guy for Nikki. I sometimes do this, let my friends have some say in the characters I name or base on them.

* I absolutely lost track of everyone's ages. I'm pretty sure I got them alright in the story but some people say I got them wrong, I can't really be sure. I don't mind it though.

* Okay, I saved a shameful little fact for this When I was writing Everything and the Moon, for about five seconds fantasized about pairing up James and Nikki but then I realized how wrong that would be in so many levels and I said 'forget it!', and pretty soon James' heroine Eddie came to me.

* Michael and LIta are twins because I couldn't decide if I wanted to give Luke and Caitlyn a boy or a girl.

* I wrote a companion story about Caitlyn's pregnancy called The Sweet Waiting because a lot of people told me they were left hanging a bit with the official ending of With You. Also, I like to do little holiday stories.
